Which TiVo to get
From TivoZA
Currently the only confirmed working TiVo's in South Africa are the Series 1 Philips and Sony standalone units.
Do not get a DirecTiVo or Series 2 unit. The DirecTiVo units are designed for pay-tv systems in the US and will not work here no matter what. Series 2 units require NTSC 60Hz input, since all broadcast in South Africa are PAL 50Hz they will not work very easily, for more fore information see Series 2 in South Africa.
